This class explores the fundamentals of yoga poses. You will learn how to integrate breath with movement to build strength, balance, and flexibility. The class will lead you to a sense of inner peace by relieving stress and tension.
Builds on the foundation of Level 1; deeper backbends and inversions will be introduced. The flow moves at a faster pace. You will learn how to refine your practice, build endurance, and strengthen your inner understanding.
May be suitable for some beginners. It offers more of a challenge and flows at a faster pace. Strength, balance, flexibility, and a sense of inner peace are emphasized.
Introduction to Yoga
This class is perfect for people new to the practice of yoga as well as for more seasoned students who want to review the basics. Topics include basic asana and alignment, breathing and meditation techniques, philosophy, and anatomy. This class will prepare you for Level 1 and Mixed Level classes.
The basics of breath will be explored with emphasis on Ujjayi. Other types of pranayama will be introduced as well. The class includes a guided meditation.
This is a nourishing practice for mind and body. A restorative practice is calming and soothing. It relieves stress by teaching us how to relax and be present in each moment. The use of blankets and bolsters offers support and ease. You will leave class feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
YFL Kids and Teens
Yoga improves concentration, and enhances calmness and relaxation. Doing yoga, children exercise, play, connect more deeply with the inner self, and develop an intimate relationship with the natural world that surrounds them. Please check the online schedule for availability.
